Sherril Bash Nixon (Aurora,
Co –Summer) (Lake Havasu City, AZ – Winter) Sherril is divorced and has no children.
She was an English/American History/Speech teacher for about 3 years; an
administrative assistant in Plant Engineering and
construction for Bell & Howell; worked for NIH
at University of Southern Cal in viral oncology
and wrote/edited/published 48 papers on viruses and retroviruses (which turned
out to be the foundation for AIDS research and gave it a huge jump-start);
worked in scrap metal and stocks and bonds; insurance; was an editor and
computerized all the records of the Colorado River Sun
newspaper; marketing research - all the ATM research in CA for Security
Pacific, B of A, Wells Fargo, etc. She also was Western Regional Sales Manager 13 to15 states (and 11 southern states) for Toshiba for their printers and computers when they came to this country and authored 11 books in 9 months to document all of their equipment; developed their dealer marketing programs and started their distribution program; Western Regional Sales Manager for Canon USA in printers and computers (13 western states), building a business from zero to $15M per year; dabbled in real estate; ended working with an 8 year contract as Managing Editor of the Journal Ophthalmology for the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Sherril lived in Southern California for almost 40 years; moved to Colorado in 2002 and now winters in Lake Havasu, a place she first visited in 1967 and bought property. She has been to Hawaii about 25 times, Alaska 3 times, and only 4 more states to visit to complete her 50. Sherril’s favorite vacation spot is St. Thomas/St. John.Sherril graduated from BGSU in 3-1/2 years and hasn't stopped since! She wishes she could be there, but wants to get back on the golf course by next year, and can't put off the knee surgery any longer. She has really enjoying not living at such a frantic pace! |
