Jeanne Brumbaugh Lyons (Twinsburg, OH) 50 years! Jeanne always thought only old people celebrated their 50th high school class reunion. Now, here she is and glad to be able to do this. After graduation, she attended Otterbein College for two years and then entered St. Luke’s School of Nursing as a college transfer student, graduation in 1965. Two years after graduation she became head nurse on a surgical unit. Jeanne married Jack Lyons whom she met at St. Luke’s in 1970. She left nursing in 1971 when her first child, Susan, was born. They moved to Solon, Ohio. Her second child, Beth, was born in 1975. She spent the next few years as Brownie leader, co-cheerleading coach and helping with the Solon Junior Garden Club. She was a member of the Solon Garden Club. Jeanne returned to nursing in 1988 on a surgical unit at St. Luke’s after taking a refresher coarse at CSU. They moved to Twinsburg in 1993 and she stayed at St. Luke’s till it closed in 1999 She transferred to St. Vincent Charity Hospital in 2000 working on an adult psych unit. Her husband died of cancer in May, 2007 and she retired in September, 2007. Her daughters are both married. Beth lives in Maui and Susan lives in Hanover, Pa. No grandchildren yet. Jeanne is currently doing volunteer work at Hillcrest Hospital and at the Twinsburg Library. She recently visited Rob (a BHS grad) and his wife, Anne, in Denver. She is looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. |
