Carol Chattin Grant (Crawfordville, FL) has lived in Crawfordville for three years. Previously Carol and her husband lived in Marion County, Florida for 37 years. Carol is a widow, her husband passed in 2006. She has two daughters, four grandsons, three granddaughters and one great-grand daughter. Daughter Sherri lives next door to her. Daughter Dawn lives in Kansas City, Missouri.

Right after graduation Carol attended Kent State University for a couple of years. She commuted the first year with Bette Scott and Heather Hocking. She worked in Cleveland for a couple of years and then moved to Chicago to room with her best buddy Pamalin Laughlin who passed in 2005. Carol also worked in Madison, Wisconsin.

Carol writes "In my spare time I've been doing genealogy research of both my husband’s family and my family. I have nine families from about 1505 to present. The families are Chattin, Mackey (Myllymaki), Grant, Harris, Williams, Burdick, Sweet, Place and Maccoon. Some of the family members are famous! The Chattin family of St. Mary's Chapel, Lancaster, Virginia, is associated with the Ball family. Mary C. Ball was the mother of George Washington. Another famous family member is Thomas Harris who with Roger Williams co-founded Rhode Island. Robert Burdick's wife, Ruth Hubband was the first Anglo child born in what is now Springfield, Massachusetts. And finally, the last famous family member to date is Benoni Grant, a member of the Green Mountain Boys under Seth Warner of Ethan Allen fame.
