Heather Hocking Hodges (Sparta, TN) after graduation from BHS, she attended Kent State
University and graduated
with a Bachelor of Science Degree in the field of Home Economics. She taught
school for several years at Garrettsville
High School in Portage County.
Howard and Heather met
at KSU and they were married in the fall of 1964. Her husband was an Industrial
Engineer for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. They have lived in Akron, Ohio, several
times, Danville, Virginia
and Topeka, Kansas. They have 2 children, a boy and a
girl who where born while they live in Virginia.
They are presently
living in Sparta, Tennessee, where her husband’s parents
retired. They are there because his
father had passed on and his mother could no longer care for herself.
Heather’s interests are
sewing, reading, gardening and traveling.
In 2004 they bought an Airstream travel trailer and they joined Wally
Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI). This offers the opportunity to sign up
for numerous caravans. This is a wonderful
way to see the world, as well as getting to know about 65 different people on
each trip. Next year they will be in Alaska and plan to be
gone about 4 months. They hope to
continue traveling for as long as they are able. Enjoy the 50th.
