Richard Metz (Olympia, WA) After
graduating from high school Dick eventually graduated from Kent State University in 1965 with a BA in
Accounting and Finance. Between the tools he received from Brecksville Schools
and Kent State, Dick was well prepared and as he
looks back he feels privileged for the education he received.
Over the years Dick has been involved in securities,
real estate, owned a number of small businesses and took on a number of
adventures.
“I have lived in Washington State
for 20 years. It is a very beautiful place, even if it rains a little. I also
spent one year in Australia working on a real estate adventure and learning
about another culture, five years in Alaska (even colder than Ohio), and the
rest in Ohio (no place like home).”
Dick has been married to Gretchen for 29 years. “I
only wish I could keep up with her.
Gretchen taught Special Ed children, K thru 12, so
I'm still being required to learn.”
Dick has four children. Two live in Ohio, one lives in Washington
and one child is deceased. He has been semi-retired for the last 10 years.
“Recently my wife bought a near new 25 foot, made for Washington waters, cabin cruiser with all
the extras. I have planned a three month adventure for her next summer-to sail
the waters of North Central Alaska.”
“Sorry I'll miss the reunion unless something
happens to change our plans. Hope you
all have fun.”
