Noel Werle (New Haven, CT) lives in New Haven, Connecticut.
She moved there in 1987 to go to Yale to get a Master’s degree. She is a nurse
practitioner. Her Master’s enables her to work independently as a
psychotherapist, prescribing medication when needed. Because she got a job
right away at a clinic and bought a house, Noel ended up staying in New Haven. “I love the
work.” Noel retired last fall but she still works a day here and there as a
consultant in a medical hospital, evaluating people with emotional problems.
She also has a very small private practice.
“I still have the same four kids who were born back
in the 1960’s in Lakewood, Ohio. Both her marriages ended in divorce.
She also earned a degree in English Literature. Noel continues a play classical
and folk music on her violin when she has time.
“I like to garden (flowers) and read. I was a poet
and a potter for a while. I really love to travel. I took several trips to the Middle East in the past five years. One of my sons and
his family lived in Dubai, so it was easy to see
and do things I wouldn't have had the opportunity--or nerve!--to do otherwise
like camping out in the mountains and desert in Oman.” Noel loves extended periods
of time in another country. She stayed in a small town in France earlier
this year for three months; working on the language and enjoying herself. She’s
getting ready for a month in England,
where that same son, a writer, now lives with his wife, two children and a new
baby girl.
