Before I begin I have an announcement from the hotel:  If you are here for the clairvoyants’ meeting that was scheduled for this room, the meeting has been canceled due to unforeseen events.
Ten of the top 20 reasons you know you are nearing your 50th High School reunion:

20. When you light the candles on your birthday cake and a group of campers form a circle and start singing “Kumbaya.”

19. When the waiter asks you how you would like your steak, and you reply: “pureed”.

18. When you enjoy hearing about other people’s operations.

17. When you are proud of your lawn mower

16. When your arms are almost too short to read the newspaper

15. When at cafeterias, you complain that the Jell-O is too tough

14. When your supply of brain cells is finally down to a manageable size

13.When you consider reading in the bathroom to be multi-tasking

12. When people call at 9 p.m. and ask, “Did I wake you?”

And the number eleven reason you know you are nearing your 50th is   When getting a little action means that your prune juice is working.

I HAVE JUST A FEW MORE THOUGHTS;

There is always a lot to be thoughtful for if you take the time to look for it.   For example, standing here and looking around I am thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don’t hurt.

That long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft.   Today it’s called golf.

That the best way to forget all your problems is to wear tight shoes.

That time may be a great healer, but it is a lousy beautician.

That you don’t stop laughing because you grow old.  You grow old because you stop laughing.

That brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells live forever.

And I remember the sign that has hung in the BHS gymnasium wall for all the years I have been in that arena for gym classes to basketball games that reads:

For when the One Great Scorer
Comes to write against your name
He marks not whether you have won or lost
But how you played the game!

THE FACT IS WE’RE ALL ALIVE HERE AT OUR 50TH HIGH SCHOOL REUNION AND THAT IS CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION.  LET’S PARTY1

Oh, and for those of you who do not remember, I am Kit Taylor.  Come to think of it I am also Kit Taylor for those of you who do remember.
